I took advantage of the great day and nice weather in Bozeman by running my 1 mile test. My target HR during the run was supposed to be 165 which is 90% of my max HR of 187. Running a mile at 146-147 HR seemed to be all my body was ready for today though. I pushed into the 150’s a few times during my run, however I couldn’t maintain a steady pace at the higher HR, so I backed down to 147 which is the highest that I could steadily maintain (for now).
My mile time came in at 9:05 mins.
Based on Coach JZ’s formula .9 x 545(secs) = 491 seconds = 8 min 11 seconds.
