KeymasterHowdy Demons! It’s actually quite fun saying that! OK…this week we have a bit more specificity that we will add to our off-season running. Here it is. Do three runs per week. Two short ones of 20-30 minutes during the week, and one longer one of 40-60 minutes on the weekend. And…peg your HR/effort around 70% of max. This won’t seem like a ton of complexity, but that’s how we build consistency and get prepared for more zesty work later on. Let me know how you are doing.

ParticipantHey Demons, I posted my 3rd run for the week today. 22 mins of jogging on a sunny day in the snow to start off the New Year. Packed some sun glasses too it was so bright. Still breaking up my run with a couple 2 min walks. Total runs for this week are 2 12 min runs and my long run is 22 mins. Ramping up slowly for now

ParticipantAwesome work Bill! I miss the snow. All I have here is darkness and rain. I was able to get out onto the track after work last night and yogged for 3 miles. My goal is to get another 3-4 mile run in before the weekend. For my long run this week I really need to get a 5 or 6 miler in. (I have a trail run coming up in Feb and need to get some base mileage built up.)
I will report back later this week! Thanks for keeping me accountable.

KeymasterWay to get things done guys. I’m staying consistent but my volume is a bit lower that what you are doing. Let’s keep building gradually. Kati, I think you are spot-on with just getting in some easy mileage on the weekend in prep for your upcoming event(s). And Bill, what a great start to the year! Remember, keep intensity low this week as we are focusing on building only one thing at a time and that is volume currently. Ciao Chow!

ParticipantHey all, logged a nice 20 min jog yesterday without any walk breaks. Was a relatively pleasant day with lots of sun, so no gloves required. Ran 13 mins on Monday so now on to wrap up the week with one more run on Sunday. Overall, my breathing feels good and not feeling any aches today. Asked a friend to join me on my Monday run who seems interested in getting back into running. Will see how his covid test results turns out before our next run.

KeymasterGreat to get out there and also to keep your friends healthy! I ran on the treadmill today because it’s very icy outside and I just didn’t want risk taking a dive and messing up my healing shoulder. Funny, I never used to think about that, and I only slipped and fell once in my memory while running over all these decades. Better safe than sorry these days!

ParticipantHey All, posted my 3rd run of the week today, 27 min jog + 13 min cool down. Felt a little fatigue in the beginning, so picked something in my form to focus on. Overall a good jog and working little by little to increase my distance.

ParticipantHey great work you two!! I got my three runs in this week which is a large win for me. It feels really great to start getting myself back into a routine. On Saturday after the masterclass I went on my first run without rain in a long time, it was zesty and refreshing.
