KeymasterAnother week is launching! This week we are keeping the two short weekday runs and slightly longer weekend run, all at low intensity, but with one caveat. Now we want to try to tack those runs onto the end of one of our gym sessions to get a good volume/durability stimulus. Let me know how it goes.

KeymasterHere’s a laugh for you guys. I did that combo session as we discussed the other day. Workout B plus a short jog at the end. My legs are still sore. Funny and humbling at the same time. How are you guys doing?

ParticipantHey John, I have one 20 min run and 20 min walk this week. Had some time constraints, so haven’t stacked the run after the workout yet, though will try it out on Saturday.

KeymasterOutstanding Bill! I look forward to seeing you in the MasterClass tomorrow then we’ll launch out on the run. I got a 4.2 mile walk in this morning as a bonus. Was a good way to build some volume without beating up my wimpy legs.

ParticipantI am back! Had to take some time to stave off a cold but I did the three runs this week and felt great! Looking forward to more!

KeymasterD, glad you are on the mend. Wise to listen to the body. Next week will have a few goodies coming out on Monday. We will sneak up on our fitness so everybody is rocking strong in the spring instead of coming off the couch all fat and grumpy.

ParticipantI had a great zoom session with coach JZ this morning. We covered lots of goodies about foot pronation, suppination, knees, & hips all working together and of then did some great exercises to feel and practice different positioning.
Got in a 45 min jog + 10 min cool down. My jog today felt completely different. I picked one thing from John’s session to focus on while my muscle memory was still fresh. During my run, I focused on loose hips and freeing up a little more movement. For me, it seemed to make a big difference. Felt like I was running more with my complete body rather than from the legs. Granted this was an easy jog and not sprinting, however it felt like my run today was more natural without having to muscle through it.January 16, 2022 at 3:01 pm #14310John Zombro
KeymasterWow, Bill…that’s fantastic! I also noticed some freedom of movement in my post-class jog. We are definitely onto something as we refine movement and modify exercises to extract better function. Thank you for asking very high-level questions and encouraging me to challenge myself and learn/develop new models. This is what it’s all about!
