Finishing out the month. We’ve been building very gradually, getting 2 short and one moderate distance run in each week, keeping intensity low, and combining with some gym training. This week we need to start working on footstrike. Your assignment is to first of all just think about how you are hitting the ground. How does it feel? Where are you contacting first? How do you push off? The main goal here is to strike or hit the ground first on the outside of the foot, somewhere between the heel and outside ball depending on your speed and anatomy, and then to push off the big toe side (inside ball or 1st met head). Try to get a sense for this and then see if you are doing it symmetrically side to side. We’ll add some specific analysis and intervention on your form later. Let me know what you find and what you think!
