Customizing your training and nutrition, or personalizing them to get the best results, is indeed an art form. There are many, many ways to adjust these parameters (along with sleep, recovery, and lifestyle) in order to maximize your outcomes.
But the truth is, you’re getting most of the way there — with “there” being lifelong health, fitness, and goal accomplishment — if you simply perform good, solid, basics with reasonable consistency. Regularly train with sound concepts and an eye on comprehensive athleticism which preserves strength, speed, power, agility, and endurance. Eat an Earth-Based diet of mostly whole, natural foods. You don’t have to be perfect…in fact there is no perfect. Just cover these bases most of the time.
When you’re seeking some refinement to match your unique needs or goals, or maybe just looking to shake things up for variety, it is both fun and effective to be creative. Episode 455 of The Lifetime Athlete Podcast featured a discussion on this very topic. Just one snapshot of potentially many, but certainly a picture of possibility. Worth a listen if you’re into this sort of thing.
